The Church Family
Once again the Church needs to step up, and become the force in their respective communities in this much needed time in our nation. The leadership of the Church is already invested in their communities in a way that the government never could be or should be. We have a mandate to feed, and clothe those most in need, and unfortunately the Church itself has been looking to the government for grants and handouts when the resources we need are in our own households.
As we struggle to deal with this global economic slowdown we will all learn something about each other. My hope is that we don't fall into a divided country of those of hope, and those without. We have the ability to transform our nation, and The Church Family should be that force of and for Change.

Extremism Under any Name
It was a small minority of people that took control of a nation such as Germany. I believe that our next president has to be extraordinary in the sense that he or she needs to be able to understand history, and have a full grasp on the ideology of these new mass murderers. As we see it only takes a handful to corrupt the many, and thanks to this current administrations arrogance and short sightedness we have allowed this new Theocratical-facism to grow. There's no difference in the Extremist's agenda (they use religion as their rallying call) then the Nazi's who used the idea of nationality as their new religion, and we see what came of that.
My opinion is that I don't believe in a notion of moderate Muslims. This doesn't mean that I believe that all Muslims are Extremist's. However, they're just as susceptible to coersion as the population in Germany. After-all if they don't agree they'll be murdered just as well. So I think the outcome is inescapable.
I'm also concerned that we're just as fragile in this country. This last Congress should not have bowed down to this administration. It's supposed to be three "co-equal" branches of government. The Executive Branch doesn't have the right to assign more powers unto itself. However, this Congress was frighteningly too passive, and shows how easily we can be co-opted by a strong personality carrying the banner of Party solidarity. Our elected Officials have placed party loyalty over what's best for their constituents and the country.
Senators Clinton, and McCain lack the ability to see the bigger picture. When you devise a foreign policy strategy it has to encompass a historical perspective as well as insight to possible casual effects. Something this current administration lacked. To put it simply "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

A More Perfect Union
In many ways the door has been opened, and it remains to be seen if America is truly ready to walk through it, Blacks, Whites, Asians, Hispanics, and Native Americans. We either rise together or sink together as we deal with the challenges of our generation. We face untold challenges in the coming days and months ahead, with an economy spiraling close to the brink of a catastrophic disaster. Meanwhile the terrorist's in our midst's and abroad cheerfully and gleefully watch as we struggle to fix a broken corrupted system. How do we fix the system to make it work for all Americans?
The challenges for us is fundamentally the question of who do we believe? We fall into the time tested battle ground of red vs blue, and black vs white. How is it working for us? The ideal of perfection is just a notion, that no one believes is attainable. Just as the Founding Fathers sought to create in a new Government a set of ideas that it's laws should respect as divine a man's right to live a full and satisfying life free from the tyrrany of government and religious oppression. Just as the ten commandments have been described as a perfect set of laws, the Constitution with the Bill of Rights have been authored to give us the best chance for a Government that is for the people, and by the people.
What wonderful resounding words...
"We the People" of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
In the coming days ahead "We the People" need to ask ourselves this question... Have we fully lived up to the measure of the gift that has been given to us? I hope as we move forward we can as a nation strive to regain some of this nations noble idea's and make them truly our own.

US Global Irrevelance
Meanwhile, our sphere of influence is being replaced with the emergence of China, and the outreaching of the European Union, which strangely and quite ironic enough are being perceived as more friendly to many countries. The European Union is our competitor, and as chief rivals should not be seen as friendly to American interests. They've done a good job of buying up America, and have put the squeeze on the American people with the blessings of our ignorant elected politicians.
As our dollar spirals downward and out of control many of our countries economic ills can be traced back to influences from Europe. Our national debt (anywhere from $12 to $42 Trillion) is increasing beyond what any reasonable sane government would allow (balance the ###### budget, and cut spending), and the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan are not helping as they drain needed resources that could be applied elsewhere. Meanwhile our ability to influence countries with foreign aid is waning as fast as our international standing and as prices for commodities rise and we no longer have the money to aid the poor. Our successes of the past are overshadowed by this current administration’s gross international failures; which in large part is due to incompetence, and indifference. We've also been ill served by this administration’s self serving attitude which can only be described as extremely short sighted.
To top it off this years primary elections have been high on personalities, but short on the textured realities of our economic situation. Our country is in dire straits, and candidates from neither party have shown a coherent or cogent understanding of this international economic tragedy that is unfolding. We're in the midst of the perfect storm where high energy prices are eating away at our foundation, and in the process causing the dollar to fade into oblivion with inflation rising to destroy the very fabric of American life. Is anyone out there really listening...?
We are at the defining moment in our nation’s history. In our nations young 400 year history we survived a Revolutionary War to achieve independence from the Superpower of their day... England. We even survived a Civil War that in the process rejected Slavery as an institution, and out of the devastation a stronger new nation emerged to distinguish itself to the world as a beacon of light. We survived a major Depression, and two World Wars, numerous recessions, and we survived what has been described as the Cold War. We fought through the Civil Rights movement to address the injustices of Jim Crow, and minimally address the suffering of the sons and daughters of slavery.
Now we are at the crossroads of this nation’s history. Will our nation recover and move forward with the same "can do" energy that helped us send a man to the moon, or as our predecessor England do we fall to the dust bin of the Superpower has been? The moment is here to challenge the soul of America, do we walk boldly through the door of opportunity or do we as a nation fall back to what's comfortable? At the end of the day the battle will be fought either on our terms or on the terms of those countries that we're indebted to.
In many ways this is the story of the two America's that exist. The one America has honor, integrity, and works tirelessly for its citizens, inspires trust in friends, stands for Peace, Freedom, and Democracy, and makes a stand on issues with our foes. The America that the founding Fathers envisioned was a country where men who were free and sovereign citizens could work towards a better life for their families. An America in which ideals, and dialogue to reach a consensus on things such as governance could be undertaken, and a country that was free from religious persecution. They envisioned a country in which the Articles of Confederation, the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution of the United States are more then just noble pieces of paper. The framers of the Constitution envisioned a country where rich men and poor men alike could work to elevate their condition in life, and that they were entitled by divine right to do so.
Then there's the other America. An international cabal that has conspired to usurp the power of the American people, that have worked in the midnight, in backrooms, on Islands (Jekyll) away from public scrutiny, in undemocratic fashion working relentlessly using it's power and wealth wielding toxic influence in cultivating, and manipulating government policies and laws to ensure special interests needs that whether unethical, illegal or immoral are enacted to fill their insatiable lust for more power, influence, and greed. This America is a predator and gave us Junk Bonds, The Savings and Loan debacle, the Enron accounting scandal, and now the Subprime Mortgage mess. This latest assault on the integrity of the American way of life can only best be described as a conspiracy by the Banking, Insurance and Mortgage Industry to defraud the American people. Over the years this other America has taken advantage of emerging countries, and manipulated and defrauded those it pretended to help for the benefit of the wealthy. This America has sown the seeds of discontent in distant lands so that the businesses of this America could rape and pillage the less capable of defending themselves.
This election is more about redefining and rediscovering the soul of America. We need a new wave of leaders that can inspire and move America forward with a destiny that is secure, and worthy of those noble warriors that shed their blood in distant lands for Peace, Freedom, and Democracy. We need leadership that is willing to live up to the ideals that brought this nation together. We need leadership that honors the Constitution, and respects the laws of our country. We should demand and expect leadership to lead and to truly serve the American people, and work with corporate America to guide them and get them to cooperate fully with rebuilding the America that generations will be proud of. We need leadership that will work to achieve a future America that has an economy of scale that works, an America that uses the best and brightest to come up with Solutions to rid ourselves of the Federal Reserve Corporation and that defy the Boom, Bust cycle of a toxic, failed, corrupted and co-opted system.
We have a myriad of issues that aren't being addressed by these candidates, and we need to begin asking these in depth questions. We need more than sound bites, and self serving platitudes. The Clinton camp wants us to believe that on day one she's prepared to go into the Oval Office and immediately begin making changes. Are we really that naive to believe this?
On the other hand they're attempting to portray Sen. Obama as naive when he says it's going to take work on all of our parts. I think he's well aware of the challenges that await him as president. Senator McCain wants to continue on with the failed policies of President Bush, and is a recipe for disaster.
The policies of this current administration have been abysmal on all fronts. While I fully recognize the enormity of what this president has had to deal with, history will show that he acted when he shouldn't, and he failed to act when he should have. It's been no small task on his part, but clearly he didn't have the capacity for the job. I do believe however, that he tried to do his best. He stood his ground on the definition of marriage. He acted when we were attacked. We can question how he did, what and why he did, but at least he did something. In the end he'll be remembered for the war in Iraq, where many of our noble soldiers gave some, and many of our soldiers gave all.

Hillary is a master magician
seen the many faces of Hillary Clinton. You would see as Ralph Nader described her so aptly as a panderer. She's a panderer, and her husband is a philanderer. They will say and do anything to get elected... Remember Bill's comment regarding Barak Obama in South Carolina....?
His comment was racially motivated.
You would see her in one vein acting as if she truly cares so much about the average American. A gentle Hillary, a fired up Hillary, a teary eye'd Hillary. I've read that the "Eye's are the windows to the soul...." It doesn't get any clearer when you check out her eyes. They're cold and calculating.
When she was taking a beating in the polls she suddenly appeared on TV teary eyed trying to reinvent her image. Now she's resorting to cheap one liner sound bites in a act of desperation. Shame on you Barak. How much more of this nonsense do we have to see that confirms that she's disqualified herself as a capable Commander in Chief?
I'd like to point out a couple of things. One is, that not one candidate is talking about the effect of the National debt in these debates , and have allowed the discussion to focus on nationalized health care. We have a myriad of complex issues surronding National Security. In addition we're at least 10 TRILLION dollars in debt at the conservative estimate, and probably more realistically closer to 42 TRILLION dollars in debt.
I also like to point out that Obama's message has been consistent and strong from the beginning. He understands that it's going to take a radical shift in thinking, and it's going to take the whole village to right this ship. The establishment of bankers, lobbyists and corporate elites have hijacked America, and inspite of all the economic warning signs are hell bent on business as usual.
We can't afford business as usual. We need a leader with a new vision, a leader that understands that we can't continue on this toxic path in America. The quality of life for most American's is going down. Thanks in part to NAFTA, corporate greed, and political irresponsibility.
Americans have worked hard to raise their families while out of control government policies, and inflation siphons off the hopes and dreams of future generations. The dollar is worth close to a dime, and the corporate elites are telling us that our economy is fine. Things are not fine, and it amazes me how these folks can continue on with their agenda, knowing that it's having a demonstrable effect on our nations future.
One last comment, Why does the U.S. resemble a third world country? How come we're getting certain families that feel as if they're entitled to hold the highest office in the land? We have the wife of a former president suggesting, that because she was there in the White House that somehow this makes her more qualified then others. Are we that gullible, and easily manipulated as a people? If so, what does this say about the future of America?

Agents of Change
The Founding Fathers of our country were extremely wise, and knew that history and people have a way of repeating mistakes and wanted to preserve Freedom. As valid today as they were yesterday these ideas resonate across time, and will serve as a beacon for those whose wish is to be free.
