The Church Family

The economic crisis has revealed the soft underbelly of communities across America. Many years ago the Church was the central focus of Families, and for the community as a whole. As the extended family has spread out, the church in many communities lost it's direction. The directive to feed the hungry, and clothe the homeless had fallen by the way until Hurricane Katrina hit.

Once again the Church needs to step up, and become the force in their respective communities in this much needed time in our nation. The leadership of the Church is already invested in their communities in a way that the government never could be or should be. We have a mandate to feed, and clothe those most in need, and unfortunately the Church itself has been looking to the government for grants and handouts when the resources we need are in our own households.

As we struggle to deal with this global economic slowdown we will all learn something about each other. My hope is that we don't fall into a divided country of those of hope, and those without. We have the ability to transform our nation, and The Church Family should be that force of and for Change.
